Kernels of our Future

Although lectures consume most of the time, there is always enough time left for various cultural programs and events as well as free-time activities. The cultural programs aim at acquainting the students with important aspects of the Greek culture. Thus, the historical heritage, customs and traditions of the Greek cultures are being explored by interactional presentations, movies such as ‘Zorba the Greek’, as well as on-site visits. These include tours around the beautiful city Chania and Heraklion and visits to some of the most important sites of Greece, such as the archaeological site of Knossos along with its famous palace of Minos. Of course you will also experience the pleasure of the famous Greek food by having traditional Greek dinners in local authentic restaurants.

Apart from getting to know the ‘Greek way of life’ much emphasis is also put on the intercultural dialogue. Thus, country-presentations are being held, during which every country’s delegation represents their country through singing dancing, food or however else they might wish to present their country.

In the evenings, when lessons are over for the day, students have the possibility to engage themselves in sports activities, such as playing soccer, or watching movies with their fellows, for example. In order to meet the desire of the students, the evening planning is coordinated in close consultation with the youngsters at the beginning of their stay.
